The short version

Vitela has no accounts and no server-side storage. Your projects — every file you write or import — live only in your own browser, on your own device. Compiling, checking and rendering all happen locally, in WebAssembly. We never receive, store or see your documents.

Your projects

Projects are stored in your browser's local database (IndexedDB) on your device. They are not synchronized anywhere and are not accessible to us or to anyone else. You can delete any project from the library at any time, or remove everything by clearing this site's data in your browser. Export produces a plain LaTeX copy that is yours to keep — we recommend it as your backup, since browser storage can be cleared by you or, rarely, by the browser itself.

What our server does

The server only delivers the application: the editor, the compiler module, the TeX packages, and pages like this one. Like most web servers it may keep standard technical logs (IP address, time, requested file) for security and operations; these contain nothing of your documents. Requests for TeX package bundles reveal only that some document needed a package — never which document or whose.

What we do not do

• No accounts, no sign-in, no profiles.
• No analytics, no tracking, no advertising, no cookies.
• No third-party services receive anything at runtime.
• No copies of your work, in transit or at rest, on anything we operate.

If this ever changes

Future paid features (synchronization, collaboration, AI assistance) would require sending data to servers by their nature. If we build them, they will be opt-in, this policy will be updated first, and the free, local-only Vitela described here will keep working as it does today.
